WHAT’S IT ABOUT
After suffering a brain injury from a bank heist gone wrong, MacDonald develops amnesia and is put into a prison psychiatric ward. Following his seventh year of incarceration, he is coerced by an inmate and a ward doctor to break out of prison, and he’s injected with a serum that forces him to relive the life he’s forgotten. MacDonald must now elude a local detective, a toughened FBI agent, and the drug’s dangerous side effects to recover the stolen money.

MOVIESinMO Review
Another movie with Stallone in it. There’s a reason why nobody talks about this film. It’s not worth talking about, and that’s only if they admit they’ve seen it. Stallone is not the star, so I guess it’s fair to say it’s not a Stallone movie, but you wouldn’t know that by the way it was promoted, using Sylvester as a draw. Basically, it’s about 20 million dollars in stolen money. There’s a shootout, some people are killed and one of them losses their memory. The guy with the memory loss, Matthew Modine, is the actual star of the film. He, along with all the other actors, is wasted in this movie. I guess they all needed rent money because there’s no reason any of them should have been in this movie. The script was severely missing substance, and the plot was so unbelievable, it might as well been written by kids and not the smart kids. Also, if you’re going to make another robbery movie, at least show the robbery. Show a backstory, give me some reasons to care about somebody. Actually, none of that would matter if the movie were good. I would even accept OK. But Backtrace is a boring, predictable, waste of time. It’s not even good enough to be on cable. It’s the kind of movie you see at 3 am on your local station when nothing else is on. Unfortunately for the producers of this movie, there’s always something else to watch.
