This is it. Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is DC’s animated equivalent to Marvel’s End Game. And just like Marvel did with 22 films, DC brought all their heroes (and villains), together for one enormous battle in their fifteenth. For those that haven’t been keeping track, the story started with 2013’s Flashpoint Paradox. Now, seven years later, The Teen Titans, Suicide Squad, The Amazons of Themyscira, Atlantians, Justice League, Justice League Dark, and the entire Bat-family come together to save the planet. This film waste no time getting to the point as it throws you directly into the heart of the prelude of war from the power-hungry Darkseid. Within minutes the entire tone of the film turns dark as Superman gives his speech on the mind and behavior of the mad tyrant from Apokolips. And so it begins. Everything you have ever wanted to see happen in a DC animated movie actually happens, plus more. This film IS NOT for kids. This film is for the adults that have had to sit through all the bubblegum versions of wars throughout the DC universe, waiting for a real fight with real consequences. Apokolips War has so much to process. The fights, the dialog, the visuals, they all come together in one coherent story. Even the downtime keeps your interest. Unfortunately, there’s not much I can say without revealing spoilers. Without a doubt, this is the best and most thought-provoking animated movie DC has ever done – hands down. OUR RATING – DUH 9.5

Charlie Weber provides the voice of Adam Strange, alongside with Roger R. Cross, Kimberly Brooks, Ray Chase, and Fred Tatasciore. Adam Strange is produced and directed by Butch Lukic (Batman Unlimited franchise), who also conceived the original story – which is written by J.M. DeMatteis (Constantine: City of Demons).
