WHAT’S IT ABOUT
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. The universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and an evolutionary biologist can prevent the end of the human race.

MOVIESinMO Review
Finally, a predator movie that continues the original story and answers a lot of questions, most of which we didn’t know we asked. There is no jungle like the first one and no big city like Predator 2. The Predator is set in a small town in present-day Earth. This story actually starts in space, in another part of the galaxy. There we see a battle that has nothing to do with Earth – or so it would seem. On Earth, a sniper for the army named Quinn McKenna (Boyd Holbrook) is on a mission when he has a sudden encounter with a crashing ship that contained the Predator. McKenna investigates and for future proof of what he saw and found, he took some items from the spacecraft and shipped them home. In my opinion, that should have been enough to create the entire movie. In the original Predator, the story was simple (as with all great films), an alien lands on Earth and just for fun, hunts down and removes the skulls and spines of the greatest warriors – THAT’S IT. In the 2018 Predator, no less than six stories are being told at any one given time, WHY?? They try way to hard to make sense out of an extremely convoluted story. There’s a story involving the agency that has hunted and searched for Predators for years with the sole purpose of scientific study. There’s a story that involves each main military character’s reason for being where they are. There’s a story about the evolution of man AND the Predators. There’s a presumed story solely about the Predator democracy or lack of it. Several stories try (and fail) to over explain the genetic code, autism, the Predators purpose, how alien tech works, and so many other unnecessary story and plotlines used as filler. Apparently, the writers of this film forgot the most basic rule that everyone in the entertainment industry knows – K.I.S.S. or Keep It Simple, Stupid (Yes, I know it didn’t start in entertainment) If you want to see senseless action (there’s a lot of it), this film is for you. DO NOT see this movie if you want a story that makes sense and has all the answers. If you ever wanted to know what a true “guy” movie was, see The Predator. This is the movie you see with your (guy) friends while your high or drunk or both. Honestly, this movie will make a ton of money when it gets released on video because regardless of how bad the story is, regardless of how badly the writers and director wanted to make a continuous story following the previous films, this movie is FUN.
